(Maximum Sports Channels – Carlos Ortega
) This week we will talk about the UEFA Italian League and MLS action.
Fiorentina-Juventus 0-0. In my opinion, this was Fiorentina’s game of their lives. I would not be surprise if they get beat in their next game. They are not built to play this way, along with Giaccherini substituting for Vidal or Marchisio, when they are resting. Marrone needs to play or at least push Asamoah back into midfield and play at center or left back. I am not questioning Giaccherini performance but for me he makes the routine, hard; sometimes a simple pass is available but he holds the ball too long at times. Paul Pogba, you are should be getting more playing time.
Napoli-Lazio 3-0. Napoli has a brilliant first half against Lazio as Edinson Cavani scored a deflected shot before the 20th minute, while Edinson Cavani doubled Napoli’s lead with a scorcher just after the half hour. In the 64th minute Napoli moved 3-up when Edinson Cavani completed his hat-trick. Edinson Cavani should have scored four but the striker incredibly missed a penalty. There is no way the first goal can be attributed to Cavani. it was a clear goal. The deflection took a normal shot away from Marchetti; had it not hit the defender, it would have gone straight at Marchetti. Marchetti to blame for the second goal though.
Udinese-AC Milan 2-1 The real problem here is deeper than the players. Unfortunately, people want Allegri‘s head but can you really blame him for all this? How many players did they lose? They lost so many great players and they were not replaced. Who’s fault is that? Sadly, he is going to get sacked and I bet you Milan still continues to lose. The problem is not the coach, the problem is Galliani and Berlusconi. They need to leave before they destroy this club.
AC Milan-Cagliari 2-0 First of all, congratulations to Milanistas, El Shaarawy saved the day. However, this performance is clearly not enough for a Champions League spot, Cagliari is a below average team and the Milan players just seemed happy that they scored a goal. When Milan won the match, I could not force down the smile on my face, but this is a temporary solution. No matter how I look at it, Allegri is not a long term solution, if he wins the next match as the coach then people will start thinking that maybe he really is the right option; which I disagree with. He is only a League coach and he will win matches using experienced tactics, but he has difficulty improvising, and at times cannot adapt. I would rather see them find a permanent solution rather than see mediocre performances from this team for the rest of the season. Though this match was a major improvement, it is still a far cry from a solid game plan. I want a solid game from Milan where they create some 1-on-1 opportunities with the keeper among other things rather than relying on luck. On a more positive note, Robinho has thankfully recovered
Do not forget to catch the MLS this weekend. Great match ups and great soccer action is in store for us.
New York vs Toronto: New York is more experienced than Toronto, so I think New York should win.
Columbus vs Philadelphia: Philadelphia for sure will take this Saturday match against Columbus, we cannot compare them. Philadelphia’s defense is better than Columbus.
Vancouver vs Seattle: Seattle has a better coach and clearly a better team than Vancouver.
Colorado vs LA Galaxy: This is going to be the best game played this weekend. And the LA Galaxy is my favorite to win this match but watch out, the Colorado Rapids have a great goalkeeper and an excellent defense.
