The CSUN Matadors (0-7) are off to a slow start and will try to pick up their first win when they challenge the Fresno State Bulldogs (2-3) at Matadome. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

In the Bulldogs’ last contest, they were beaten by the Saint Mary’s Gaels, 68-58. Fresno State’s Jarred Hyder had a good game, leading the team in scoring with 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting. Saint Mary’s did a fantastic job of converting from the charity stripe (10-12; 83.3 percent). Fresno State, on the other hand, had an offensive rebounding percentage of 36.4 (above their season average of 29.1).

The Matadors are trying to rebound after their 85-84 loss to the Green Bay Phoenix in their last outing. Terrell Gomez was the game’s leading scorer with 30 points on 11-for-20 shooting. Green Bay did a terrific job of making free throws (12-16; 75.0 percent). CSUN, on the other hand, held the Phoenix to an offensive rebounding percentage of 20.7 (below their season average of 26.5).

It will be a battle of contrasting tempos as the fast-paced Matadors will look to push the more methodical Bulldogs. Dating back to the 2018-19 season, the Matadors rank 48th in possessions per game while the Bulldogs are 177th. Furthermore, the elite offense of the Bulldogs ranks 40th in effective field goal percentage (0.540), while the Matadors have been 37th-worst in the nation at effective field goal percentage allowed (0.530).
