) Here we are in week number twelve Hockey GM. It’s the end of the calendar year and most folks are making resolutions for the New Year. How about you? What are your New Years resolutions as far as Fantasy Hockey is concerned? Maybe it’s to finally replace that underperforming player on your roster?
If that’s the case I have a few suggestions for you this week!
Teams with 4 games: Boston, Buffalo, Carolina, Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Florida, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, New Jersey, Nashville, New York Islanders, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Tampa Bay and Toronto
Every other team has three games this week.
Brad Hunt D Edmonton 0.1% owned: Hunt is probably a better deeper league option at this point but he has two assists and thirteen shots on goal and that has definitely caught my eye. Plus he’s the point man on the power play and that’s a huge deal for a rookie blue liner.
Justin Schultz D Edmonton 31.3% owned: At this point Schultz is a better Fantasy Option then Hunt is and with one goal, three assists and nine shots on goal is his last five games Schultz is a decent long term option in most Fantasy Hockey Leagues.
Alex Tanguay LW Colorado 29.4% owned: Tanguay is starting to catch fire for the Avalanche with two goals, three assists and six shots on goal in his last five games. Tanguay is also getting 30 percent ice time on the power play so Tanguay may be a good option this week.
Mark Scheifele C RW Winnipeg 18.6% owned: Scheifele is on quite a roll with two goals, four assists and fifteen shots on goal in his last five games. Scheifele is on the three and four man power play so he’ll get plenty of opportunities to score points for you this week.
As always please consult your individual league waiver wire for these and other options. Please remember to tune in to Monday’s Phil Naessens Show for our weekly Fantasy Hockey segment with Rotowire writer Brian Rutherford.
Good luck this week Fantasy Hockey GM and Happy New Year!!
